Museum Gugging

Saturday, August 24, 2019 10:00 - 14:00
About sixty years ago, the history of the Art Brut in Gugging began when psychiatrist Leo Navratil at the hospital Gugging began to let  his male patients paint. The test, which was part of a diagnostic procedure, surprisingly showed impressive results in some men and Navratil began to promote his artistically gifted patients. After the Gugging artists were shown in more than 250 exhibitions worldwide, it was decided to make the works of art publicly accessible at the place of origin - this is how the present-day Gugging Museum was created. The museum houses a permanent selection of fascinating paintings, drawings, prints and objects by the Gugging Artists Group and provides an overview of the work of well-known representatives of Art Brut from the past decades. Price per person incl. bus ride, guide and admission fee: Euro 35,00

Vienna Mozart Concert

Saturday, August 31, 2019 20:15 - 22:00
The special attraction of the Vienna Mozart Concert is the fact, that the orchestra performs in historical costumes. The choice of the setting, the program, the authentic costumes and wigs, the enthusiasm of all these young musicians and not least the typical Viennese atmosphere, all contribute to create an ambience which makes the audience feel as though they have stepped back into the end of the 18th century.
The concert takes place in the Vienna State Opera. The repertoire of the Vienna Mozart Orchestra includes more than 100 works by the great master of the Viennese classical era Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The concerts are performed in the style of 18th century “Musical Academies” at which it was usual to perform single movements from his many symphonies and solo concertos, as well as overtures, arias and duets from his best-known operas. The favorite works by Mozart are performed at every concert! Tickets in different price categories available, starting from EURO 50,- onwards
